"I think everyone knows how good of a player he is, but I just like how consistent he is and under control in what he does," Shanahan said. "He's a very smart player, and he makes a lot of plays and stuff, but it's the consistency of how he plays his game. I feel like he was a great guy to add for us."

Marcus Allen has been a mentor to Josh Jacobs ever since Jacobs entered the NFL as a first-round draft pick in 2019. In Sunday's 35-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons, Bengals QB Joe Burrow became the first player in NFL history to have five games of 400 or more passing yards in the first three years of his career, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. He was 34-of-42 passing for 481 yards and three touchdowns, with much of that damage coming in the first half.
